This policy explains how the Emera Facility Services website uses cookies and similar tools. The website is run by Emera Holdings Pty Ltd (ABN 72 644 583 595), trading as Emera Facility Services ("we", "us" or "our").

2. How we use cookies

We use cookies and similar tools to:

  • keep the website secure and deliver it to you

  • see how many people visit, which pages they view and how they found us

  • measure whether our Google ads lead to enquiries, and show our ads to people who have visited the site

  • link the enquiries you send us to your earlier visits, so we understand which pages helped

We don't show a cookie banner. Australian privacy law doesn't set a specific rule for cookie consent. Instead, it requires us to tell you what we collect and why, which we do in this policy, our privacy policy and the collection notice on each form. You can turn cookies off at any time, as set out below.

3. Cookies used on this site

Google Tag Manager. We use Google Tag Manager to load the other Google tools on the website. It doesn't set any cookies itself.

Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics tells us how people use the website. It records the pages you view, your device and browser, your approximate location worked out from your IP address, and the website that referred you.

  • _ga: tells visitors apart for analytics, set by Google Analytics, kept for up to 2 years

  • _ga_ followed by our Google Analytics measurement ID: keeps track of your visit for analytics, set by Google Analytics, kept for up to 2 years

Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing. These tools tell us when a visit from one of our Google ads leads to an enquiry. They also let Google show our ads to people who have visited the website. Google may also use its own cookies on Google domains.

  • _gcl_au: links ad clicks to enquiries, set by Google Ads, kept for about 90 days

HubSpot tracking code and forms. HubSpot runs the forms on our website and records visits so we can connect an enquiry to the pages you viewed. When you submit a form, your details go into our HubSpot account. HubSpot holds our account data in its Australian data centre in Sydney.

  • __hstc: tracks visitors and visits, set by HubSpot, kept for about 6 months

  • hubspotutk: recognises you when you submit a form, set by HubSpot, kept for about 6 months

  • __hssc: counts page views in a visit, set by HubSpot, kept for 30 minutes

  • __hssrc: tells HubSpot when you have restarted your browser, set by HubSpot, kept until you close your browser

YouTube videos. We embed videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced player, which runs from youtube-nocookie.com. It sets no cookies until you play a video. Once you press play, YouTube, which is owned by Google, may store data on your device.

Cloudflare. Cloudflare hosts and serves our website. It processes IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. It may set a strictly necessary security cookie.

  • __cf_bm: helps tell people apart from automated bots, set by Cloudflare, kept for about 30 minutes

4. Third party cookies

Google, HubSpot and YouTube set and read their own cookies, and their own privacy policies apply to the data they collect. Some of these companies process data overseas, including in the United States. You can read their policies here:

5. Managing and turning off cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Each browser does this differently, so check its help pages.
