What's included

Small repairs, sorted by where they turn up.

These are the jobs a handyman can clear in a visit. Anything that needs a plumber or an electrician goes to a licensed tradesperson, booked through the same contact.

  • Doors and locks

Doors rehung so they close properly, closers and hinges adjusted, and handles, latches and lock barrels replaced.

  • Fixtures and fittings

Loose handrails, hooks, blinds, mirrors and toilet roll holders refixed or replaced.

  • Patching and touch-ups

Holes and dents in plasterboard patched, chipped corners filled and the wall touched up to match.

  • Shelving and signage

Shelves, brackets, whiteboards and signs fixed with the right anchors for brick, block or plasterboard.

  • Furniture and cupboards

Cupboard doors, drawer runners, desk legs and kick plates repaired or adjusted.

  • Outdoor odd jobs

Sagging gates, loose fence palings, bin enclosures and letterboxes repaired.

One contact

The same contact for the cleaning and the repairs.

If we already clean your site, the small jobs don't need a second contractor. Tell your Emera contact, or log the job in the app you already get cleaning reports from. We book the handyman, and each finished job comes back with photos for you to sign off.

  • One invoice. Repairs are billed with your cleaning, so your accounts team pays one supplier.
  • Jobs on record. Each job sits in the app beside your cleaning reports, with dates and photos.
  • Dust cleared on the next clean. Our cleaning crew picks up anything a repair leaves behind.

About handyman services

Questions about handyman work on commercial sites.

What facility and store managers ask before they hand us their list.

Ask us a question
What jobs can a commercial handyman do on our site?

A commercial handyman from Emera takes care of the small repairs that build up on a site, such as doors, locks and closers, loose fittings and handrails, patching and touch-ups, shelving, signs and whiteboards.

Jobs that need a licence, such as electrical, plumbing or gas work, go to a licensed electrician or plumber, booked through us, so you still have one contact.

Do you take on one-off jobs as well as regular contracts?

Yes. You can book a single job with Emera, such as a carpet clean before an event or a door repair, without signing a contract. You can also send a list of small repairs, and we'll work through it in one visit.

If we already clean your site, one-off jobs go on the same account and are logged in the same app as your regular cleaning, with photos.

Can one company look after our cleaning and maintenance, and why does that help?

Yes. Emera's crews do the cleaning, and licensed tradespeople we work with do the repairs and trade jobs. Emera books and manages both.

You get one contact, one induction and one record of the work. When a cleaner spots a leaking tap or a broken door closer, it goes in the same report, and we can book the fix.

How do we report a maintenance job and know when it's done?

Tell your Emera contact, call us or log the job in our app with a photo, and we book the right trade.

When the work is done, it's photographed in the app and you sign it off, and the report comes to you. Any job that passes its date shows on our overdue list until it's closed.

Are your tradespeople licensed and insured?

Yes. Each tradesperson Emera sends holds the licence or registration their trade needs in Victoria, and carries public liability insurance and WorkCover.

Our app holds every licence and certificate of currency, and warns us 30 days before one expires. Ask, and we'll send you copies before the job starts. See the checks behind everyone we send.

How do you price trade and maintenance jobs?

Emera prices each trade or maintenance job on what it involves, including labour, materials, access and the time of day the work is done. Small jobs can be priced from your photos, and bigger ones start with a site visit.

You get the scope and price in writing before any work starts. If we find more once we're on site, we stop and agree the extra with you before going on.

Pair with

Bigger jobs, through the same contact.

When the list outgrows a handyman, the same contact books carpentry, bollards or a planned maintenance program.

  • Facilities maintenance

Repairs and trade jobs for commercial sites, logged, sent to the right trade and signed off, through the team that cleans your site.

  • Bollard installation

Bollards marked out, drilled and fixed at car parks, loading docks, shopfronts and racking, with underground services located first.
