Exterior surfaces
Graffiti removal in Melbourne.
We take tags off brick, render, glass, metal and roller doors at shopfronts, warehouses, schools and commercial buildings. Every job starts with a test patch, so we know the remover won't harm the surface.
Tell us where the tag is.
Call us on 1300 153 114 or email hello@emerafs.com.au, and we'll book your site visit.
Name the surface, the rough size and whether it faces the street. We'll ask you for a photo.

Surfaces we work on
Graffiti removal matched to the surface.
The wrong remover can etch glass, lift paint or push colour deeper into brick. We choose the product and pressure for each surface.
Brick and render
A graffiti remover breaks down the paint, then a low-pressure rinse flushes it out of the pores and mortar.
Glass and shopfront windows
Paint and marker come off with solvent and a scraper held flat, so the glass isn't scratched.
Metal and roller doors
Painted and powder-coated metal gets a milder remover, so the tag lifts and the coating stays.
Painted walls
Where a remover would lift the paint underneath, we paint over the tag in a matched colour instead.
How we deal with it
Remove it, paint over it or protect the wall.
Which one fits depends on the surface, and on how often the wall gets hit.
1. Remove
Most tags on brick, render, glass and metal come off with the right remover and a low-pressure rinse.

2. Paint over
On painted walls, or where removal would mark the surface, we paint over the tag in a colour matched to the wall.

3. Protect
For walls that keep getting tagged, an anti-graffiti coating lets the next tag wash off without harsh removers.

Graffiti removal questions
Questions about graffiti removal.
Straight answers on cost, surfaces, coatings and when to paint over instead.
Request a Site VisitCan graffiti be removed from brick without damaging it?
Yes. Brick is porous, so paint soaks in. Emera tests a small patch first, then uses a remover made for masonry and rinses it out at low pressure, so the brick face and mortar stay intact.
Old or soft brick can keep a faint shadow of the tag. If that happens, we show you before going further and talk through the options.
Can you remove graffiti from shopfronts and roller doors?
Yes. Emera removes tags from shopfront glass, frames, signs and roller doors, and can do it before you open, so the tag is gone when customers arrive.
Paint and marker come off glass with a solvent and a scraper held flat, so the glass isn't scratched. Painted and powder-coated roller doors get a milder remover, tested on a patch first, so the tag lifts and the coating stays.
Do you apply anti-graffiti coatings?
Yes. Once a wall is clean, Emera can apply a clear anti-graffiti coating to surfaces that get tagged often.
A sacrificial coating comes off with the next tag when it's washed, and we reapply it. A permanent coating stays on the wall, and tags are cleaned off its surface. We recommend one at the site visit, based on the surface and how often it's hit.
When is painting over graffiti better than removing it?
Painting over graffiti is better when the tagged surface is already painted. A matched colour is often quicker and costs less than removal, and it leaves no faint outline behind.
On bare brick, stone, glass and metal, Emera removes the graffiti instead, because new paint would change the look of the surface and need upkeep. At the site visit, we tell you which we'd do, and why.
Can you work before we open or after we close?
Yes. Emera books cleaning and trade work around your opening hours, early in the morning, in the evening or on a weekend, so we stay out of the way of your customers and staff.
If a job needs the power or water off, or makes noise or fumes, we agree the time with you before we book it.
How do you price a one-off or periodic job?
Emera prices each one-off or periodic job on what needs doing, how big it is, the access and when we can work. Small jobs, like a few tags or a short list of items, can often be priced from photos.
Bigger jobs, and regular work such as turnovers or scheduled cleans, need a site visit first. Either way you get a written scope and price, and nothing is booked until you agree.
